Staying up to date on the latest Alzheimer’s and dementia research and best care practices is of utmost importance to us here at CiminoCare.
Every year we look forward to the Alzheimer’s Association’s education conferences that are so valuable for not only keeping our staff and administrators informed, but also for supporting family caregivers and the general public.
On Thursday, May 11 several of our CiminoCare Burlingame team members attended the Alzheimer’s Association’s 19th Annual Updates on Dementia Conference at the South San Francisco Conference Center. A wealth of information was presented by leading experts. The presentations at the conference covered topics from the latest Clinical Care Guidelines for Alzheimer’s Disease Management to addressing the almost 1 million Americans with dementia who live alone . The conference also featured the award-winning researcher and clinician, Frank M. Longo, MD, PhD who presented “Alzheimer’s Prevention & Treatment: Where Are We Headed?” Dr. Longo is a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine and founder and Chairman of biopharmaceutical firm PharmatrophiX. His team’s work was featured on the cover of Time Magazine in 2016.
You can check out more about the conference, including handouts from the presentations on the Updates on Dementia Conference website. [http://www.updatesondementia.com/2017-session-descriptions.html]
We also encourage you to check out the Alzheimer’s Association’s upcoming event “The Longest Day.” This event is held annually to honor the summer solstice, symbolizing the challenging journey of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.
