Shine a Light on Alzheimer’s
In celebration of the lives of my Mother, Father and many others, it is an honor to support this worthy cause on the same day as the Summer Solstice.
My Father was diagnosed with dementia in 2008, then confirmed with Alzheimer’s disease several years later. In 2017, he started to have episodes of focal onset seizures, which was confirmation of his entering the 7th stage of dementia. He passed away several months later which, considering his suffering, was a Blessing.
My Mother was also diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She is still with us today and suffers from the softer or more mild mannered changes of the disease. To this day, she is still the sweetest human I have ever met.
On June 20, please join us and people across the world in fighting the darkness of Alzheimer’s through posts or a fundraising activity of your choice.
God Bless All,
Tanya Maria Benjamin
How You Can Help
Join the cause to raise awareness and funds to provide care, support and research for those affected by Alzheimer’s by participating in The Longest Day. Celebrated every Summer Solstice during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month in June, The Longest Day campaign invites you to post a selfie on social media using the hashtags #ENDALZ and #TheLongestDay. Join or start a fundraising activity, register and find more information from The Alzheimer’s Association.
Together, we can Shine a Light on the fight against Alzheimer’s.
