ALW Rate Increase Information

Hello everyone,

As a promise to keep you all updated with pertinent ALW rate increase information, the CiminoCare team would like to inform you of the delay of the 2017 ALW rate increase.

Although the ALW daily rates have increased as of January 1, 2017, unfortunately, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) experienced a delay when they requested the system change to increase the rates. Thus, as some of you may know, the new rates have yet to be implemented. Once the new rates are implemented, DHCS will be requesting that Xerox re-process all of the claims that were underpaid. For now, when communities submit claims, they can submit claims for the new rate that is included below. However, until the system update has been made on their end, they will still pay the 2016 rate.

As a reference point for you all, please visit this link for additional detailed information pertaining to updated 2017 ALW rate information:

Although this may be a huge inconvenience to you and those you work with, we will keep you up-to-date with any new announcements that come our way.
Also, while the information below is not specifically ALW-related, we wanted to be sure to convey the latest information below as it relates to SSI (or Non-Medical Out of Home Care Rate) updated payment standards for 2017.

Please note that in 2017, for those with an SSI income of $1,158.37, the amount payable for room and board is $1,026.37. This accounts for a minimum personal-and- incidental-needs allowance of $132.  For those with income of $1,178.37 or greater, the amount payable for room and board is $1,046.37.  This accounts for a minimum personal and incidental needs allowance of $132.
