At CiminoCare, we are proud to be advocates for the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) program in California and take pride in sharing information that affects the program.
Mark Cimino, CEO of CiminoCare, contacted the department in advance to get more information on the new rates before their official publication so that other ALW providers can have more time for budgeting decisions.
That being said, we would like to share the ALW rate increases that are scheduled for implementation in 2019. Please see the relevant information below that we are sharing on behalf of the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
The new 2019 rates will reflect what has been listed below and should be posted on the ALW web page the first week of January.
Tier 1: $65/day
Tier 2: $77/day
Tier 3: $88/day
Tier 4: $102/day
Tier 5: $200/day (Same as 2018)
As of January 1, 2019, providers may send in the bills with the new rates The waiver renewal on February 28, 2019, is automatic and will not affect billing.
In addition to the rise in ALW reimbursement rates, SSI rates will also be increasing in the new year. We will send more info on that in the near future.
