Funding will add an additional 2,000 slots to the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) program starting June 1, 2018

We would like to share some exciting news with regard to the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) program!
The Governor’s budget, which was released on January 10, 2018, includes funding to add an additional 2,000 slots to the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) program starting June 1, 2018. This funding is contingent upon legislative approval and will also require the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to prepare an amendment to the Assisted Living Waiver and submit to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for approval.
