Our Portola Gardens community “branched out” and sponsored the Portola Garden Tour which recently celebrated 13 years in San Francisco’s Garden District. The purpose of the tour is near and dear to our heart- to preserve and highlight open space in San Francisco and support horticulture education.
Our garden at Portola Gardens is a big part of our residents’ lives. So many of them enjoy planning the garden, working in it, and simply enjoying the beauty it provides on a daily basis. It is truly a standout feature of the community.
As part of our sponsorship of the Tour, we hosted a Cocktail Reception and Neighborhood Garden Tour. Over 60 people attended and enjoyed complementary garden giveaways, fun and festive cocktails, food and some surprises.
The tour is a benefit for The Portola Garden District Scholarship at City College of San Francisco for deserving students of the Environmental Horticulture and Floristy Department. The Portola District enjoys uncharacteristically sunny weather for San Francisco, and is home to many avid amateur and award-winning gardeners. We are proud to be a sponsor of such a wonderful event!
